Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco and double-checking if these medications are safe to use together. Clopidogrel and Onsior are safe to give at the same time, as long as they are medications that are both prescribed by your veterinarian to be used by Jack. Onsior is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication that should not be used if cats have underlying liver or kidney disease, as Onsior can make these diseases worse. If the Onsior has been prescribed by your veterinarian for Jack (and not a different cat in the house) it is OK to give him this along with the Clopidogrel he usually receives. If the Onsior has been prescribed for a different cat in the household, I would not give this to Jack without Jack first being evaluated by your veterinarian. I hope this is helpful!

If the Onsior isn't expired and is the appropriate dosing for his current weight then you can give him a tablet. Do not give it if he isn't eating or is vomiting. Do not give extra and follow the specific instructions, once daily for no more than 3 days. Call your Vet Monday before giving anymore. Good luck!

My cat was prescribed onsior. I realized that I gave him his medicine this morning with his other 12 hour instead of waiting till tonight. Will he be okay. Do I need to be looking for anything since I have given him the medication 12 hours early
Fortunately Onsior is one of the safest pain killers on the market and a one time double dosage is not likely to affect him. i would still monitor him for vomiting, lack of appetite and bloody stools, i would also recommend skipping the next dose.

My cat was prescribed Onsoir for a corneal ulcer and fever. I crushed the pill and mixed it in some wet food for administration. But I noticed in the instructions, it said not to crush or break the pill. I am worried this will lead to side effects? W
Onsior is best given as a whole tablet. Crushing it is not ideal. It will not harm her or cause side effects, it just may not be as efficacious. Have you tried giving the tablet in a Pill Pocket? Typically they will eat the tablet whole that way. ( https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/greenies-pill-pockets-tuna-and-cheese-flavor-cat-treats ) Give her a couple with nothing inside. Make sure she likes and eat is and then hide the tablet in one. I would try that first.

This is not a typical side effect to onsior. I would have her reassessed to see if she might require additional pain management or if there is an infection currently brewing that needs addressing. If the breathing actually becomes labored or distressed, have her checked immediately. Hope this helps.
