The glass jar may not seal as well as the original packaging in this case. I doubt that it would cause Chloe any harm to feed her these treats, as they are likely just stale. However, I agree that a general rule of thumb is that treats are best fed when they are fresh and able to be broken.

Properly stored, they may last about 8-12 months before becoming stale or contaminated. An air tight container in a dry, dark location is best. Freezing may extend shelf life, especially regarding homemade biscuits. I would hesitate to use biscuits that are two years old regardless of storage method.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I personally like the Purina Pro Plan diets as well as the Hill's Science Diet foods as I think they are both palatable and highly nutritious. In terms of treats, I think the milk bones products are both nutritious, palatable and reasonably priced. Good luck and best wishes!

Great question! I always keep my dog food in an airtight plastic container. It helps keep it fresh, and the container also prevents any other creatures from getting the food such as insects. I recommend a container. I hope this helps :-)

Most manufacturers print a "best by" date on the bags of food. Storing the food in its original bag inside an airtight container in a cool, dry area will slow degradation and protect the food from vermin. You may end up spending more money (in the form of wasted or bad food) if you buy too much though.
