Sienna has gone in for a spay we left her at 9 am and they had her pre an shot before we left. When should they be doing surgery for her to go home at 4:30 pm that’s when they said they’d be done and I am a bit panicking so it’ll help me be calm if I
I'm a nervous mom too, so I certainly understand what you are going through. The way most vet clinics do surgery is that we try to do all surgeries before 1 pm, so they have at least a few hours to recover before they are sent home. Most vets prefer to do dog spays first, so Sienna may already be done with surgery! Often, we do not call after each surgery is over, but will call after all surgeries are over for the day to verify pick up time. But every vet clinic does things differently, so I can't be sure how your vet clinic does things. I'm sure everything is going well, but if you really need to know if Sienna is done with surgery, you can always call to check on her. We are currently residing in china. The vets here have two different ways of spaying, one the dog is kept for 4 days the other the dog goes home same day. I'm guessing they have different procedures... Which would be the right one?
I don't know much about how they spay dogs in China, but I can't say I have ever heard of a dog requiring a four day hospital stay after this procedure. Here in the USA, most dogs will either go home the same day or the day after the procedure. Although a spay is an intra-abdominal procedure were an organ is removed, they tend to wake up well and not particularly painful. Unless they are using some method in China that is far more involved, I would think that the same day method is more in line with realistic.

Hi there and thanks for posting on Boop by Petco! My suggestion is to have a friend or neighbor stop by a at least a couple times during the day while you are gone just to make sure Soska is doing okay and has enough food and water, is let outside to potty, and to watch Soska in case she goes into labor a few days early and should any problems arise. If a friend, family member, or neighbor can't be available, I would hire a sitter to stop by 2-3 times during the day while you are traveling. I hope this helps and thanks again for your post!

Nikki is adorable! Thanks for including pictures! Yes, PetSmile is expensive, but it is one of the only toothpastes to actually be approved by the Veterinary Oral Health Council. Here is a list of their approved products. http://www.vohc.org/VOHCAcceptedProductsTable_Dogs.pdf PetSmile is what I use with my dogs. (Last year they ran a 25% off sale before Christmas, so I stocked up!) Yes, it is fine to use Dawn on Nikki's feet daily, but I suspect any gentle cleaner would be fine as well. You may have to experiment to find the best shampoo for her. I have been very pleased with EarthBath products, so you might want to try their Oatmeal and Aloe shampoo for itch relief. https://earthbath.com/product/oatmeal-aloe-shampoo/ There are also prescription itch relief shampoo and conditioner products if needed that you can talk to your vet about.
