I've read that plastic bowls can cause cancer in dogs and cats. We recently had to put our cat to sleep due to lymph cancer. He was only 2 1/2 years old. My Vet said it was not the virus cancer. Now I feel responsible as I was feeding him out of plas
I have no found any definitive research linking plastic bowls to cancer. From what I can see, it's anecdotal evidence. Unfortunately sometimes young cats get cancer. It's rare, but it does happen. Don't feel responsible, it's not your fault.

What is the best dog bowl material that is non toxic, going to stay clean, not get a film at the bottom and not harbor bacteria?
Hello, and thanks for your question on Boop by Petco. It's great that you're being conscientious about this! I recommend ceramic, glass, or stainless steel bowls. They tend to be cleaner, and are safe to throw in a dishwasher cycle now and then. I'd specifically avoid plastic. Hope that helps!

What food is good for cats who are five years old ?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! There are several diets available in the market as you have probably noticed. I personally prefer Purina, Royal canin and Science Diet foods as they are of high quality and have research to back up their use. Any of their variations should be good for Maddi. I have two beautiful cat brothers- they just turned a year old. I got all their shots, deworming etc through vetco. they have also been neutered. Recently I heard I should be feeding them strictly wet food not kibble- is this true? for some reason
Canned food is recommended because it has a high moisture content and it is a high protein/low carb diet. Cats are obligate carnivores, which means they require protein (of animal origin) and very little to no carbs in their diet. In the wild, the only carbs ingested are typically those eaten by small prey. Many dry foods, by their very nature, are high in carbs which can lead to obesity. You can continue to feed a dry food as long as you choose a grain free or low carb product. Keep them up to date on vaccines, use monthly parasite prevention, feed a healthy diet and provide plenty of exercise and love. Probiotics can be used to promote gut health and won't harm them, however if they have no GI issues then you can skip them.

For my other cat Luna, as soon as her food opens (automatic feeder) she finishes it all right away, but for Mina she only eats a bit at a time and takes almost the whole day to finish it. Right now their food is in different rooms and I monitor them
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! It is difficult to change a cat’s eating preferences; there are a couple of options to try, however. There are automatic feeders that are triggered to be open by a specific tag on the collar; this way, Mina could come and go as she pleases and only her collar would open the feeder. Another option, if she likes wet food, is to feed her a larger portion of wet food that she will eat right away. If these options don’t work, I would recommend reaching out to your regular veterinarian for more options. Good luck!
