Calcium rich sand can be used as a substrate for snails. You should still use a calcium supplement though. If you can get a clear image of Gary and post it in a new question, we may be able to identify the species for you.

What type of saltwater fish can I have in a 10 gallon tank
Thanks for reaching out, the rule of thumb is 1" of fish per 3 gallons, but smaller tanks are very difficult to keep stable, and saltwater fish are easily stressed by environmental fluctuations (salinity, temperature, dissolved oxygen). Good luck.

My fish has fin rot and seems lethargic. He will just sit at the bottom of his tank or in his flower. He might also have a swim bladder issue. What can I do to fix him?
Check the water chemistry and quality first. Poor quality can predispose him to infection. Use a home test kit or submit a water sample for testing. Your local Petco may do this for free or for a small fee. If ammonia and/or nitrite levels are elevated, perform partial water changes until both read 0 ppm and nitrates are 20 ppm or less. Use only conditioned water that is temperature matched to prevent further stress or shock. Providing pristine water quality is the foundation for treatment and healing. Check the water temperature since low temps can affect appetite and activity in fish. If the water is too warm, it can also affect activity since warm water does not hold as much oxygen as cooler waters. Fast the fish for 2-3 days then feed tiny bits of cooked and shelled green peas. This will aid in defecation if there is constipation. Aim for an absence ( 0 ppm) of ammonia and nitrites with nitrates at 20 ppm or less. Perform partial water changes, no more than 30% at a time, to stabilize chemistry and/or to improve water quality. Use only conditioned water that is temperature matched to prevent stress or shock. Check water temp as well. Any of these can drive a fish to the surface. The "flashing" (darting about) can be due to infection (bacterial, fungal or parasites). Consider a broad spectrum antibiotic or an "all in one" product to treat multiple infections. Look in the Aquarium section of the local Petco for options. Follow label directions carefully and remove the carbon filter insert during treatment if indicated.

I am a beginner and I was planning on getting purchasing a 20 gallon tank. I wanted a Tang, a Clownfish, a Chromis a some guppies, would the size tank be to small?
The Tang, Clownfish, and Chromis are marine fish requiring a saltwater aquarium while guppies are freshwater fish. These fish are not compatible as they require two completely different setups to accommodate their different environmental needs. If you are going to set up a marine aquarium - a 20 gallon aquarium is too small for the fish you have listed. A small Percula Clownfish maybe suitable in a 20 gallon aquarium temporarily, but be prepared to upgrade to a larger aquarium as it grows larger. In general, 50+ gallon aquariums are recommended to properly house marine fish as they tend to grow large and require plenty of room to swim. If you are planning to set up a freshwater aquarium, a 20 gallon setup is adequate to house guppies.
