The Cowfish, or Longhorned Boxfish, is a marine species that should be kept only by experienced aquarists. When stressed, they can release toxins into the water which may harm tank mates. Pacman frogs, leopard geckos, corn snakes or bearded dragons are all easy to keep.

Check the water chemistry. Invertebrates can be more sensitive to ammonia levels than other fish. It is always recommended to quarantine new additions in a separate tank to rule out or treat infection or parasites prior to adding to the main tank. Make sure he isn't being harrassed by other fish. As he matures, he will grow and become a potential threat to bottom dwelling tankmates.

If your are using a product such as Instant Ocean ( www.instantocean.com ) or Reef Crystals ( http://www.instantocean.com/Products/Sea-Salt-Mixes/reef-crystals-sea-salt.aspx ), then directions will be on the container. Other products may also include instructions. The amount of sea salt will depend on the specific gravity you desire. Ocean water, or water used in marine tanks, has a specific gravity of 1.025, so you will need to dissolve enough salt into a quantity of water to reach that level. You will need to allow for 24 hours to make sure the salt has completely dissolved. If you want a step by step guide, click the link below. http://www.saltwatersmarts.com/guide-to-mixing-saltwater-517/

Hi there! Superman and batman for halloween- I love it! Very cute. A small tiny bit of cooked shellfish should be okay, but I would advise against raw shellfish/fish as there are parasites and bacteria in them that could make them both sick. Hope this helps and thanks for using Boop by Petco!
