Sport dog is a good brand with several levels of correction. This will not be effective for chewing unless you are always there to correct her. If she chews when you are not home there is no way to know or enforce or correct this. For any training you have to ask them to perform something they know, such as sit. If they do not do it you push the button. If they do well then you reward them. Keep them on a leash while training. When you ask them to come, you pull the leash. If there is no interest then you correct them. They will learn to associate the two things together quickly to respond

Want to buy a head halter. How long does it take to condition them to it? Longer than a prong collar(he is on one currently he now walks on a regular harness around blocks with other dog loose leash prongs only for going into dog park etc) do people
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Personally I love the gentle leader muzzle harnesses. It provides owners great control of their dogs. It does take a while to get the dog used to it and they still want to rub their faces on people to get them off. They do that in the exam room with me. I would gradually increase the time you have it on in the house before going on walks and give him treats or peanut butter while he has it on. That way he associates it with good things. I do think so people think it is a muzzle but more and more people know what they are. Personally if it makes your life easier I wouldn't care what some people think. I think people think more highly of the gentle leader than the prong collar. As for walking on a loose leash, it may help with that but it really depends on the dog. Some will take advantage when they know the leash is loose. The best thing to not have a dog pull is to train them to "heel," which is easier to do with the Gentle leader. I hope this he

Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. I would recommend using corrective collars like a pinch collar or gentle leader. These can help stop the pulling behavior. You may also look into the low voltage shock collars. These collars emit a small shock that is similar to being snapped by a rubber band. You can use this to correct the behavior and these collars can all be found online or at your local pet store. I hope this helps! I'm so glad that you found a good training method for Timber. The problem with shock collars is that often people do not use them correctly. If you are shocking your dog inappropriately, they will get confused about what is going on and everyone will be frustrated with training. What is your personal opinion on the starmark training collar for dogs? I have a dachshund and was wondering if it was if I would be bad for his back? I know putting collar on a dachsund puts strane on their back and neck... but, is it safe to use it
This is my own opinion unrelated to either Boop by Petco or Petco. I am not a fan of prong collars. The potential for injury or misuse is too great. Damage to the trachea, larynx or esophagus is possibly along with the risk to cervical vertebra. If you choose to use it, consider a consult with a certified trainer to learn proper use. You can also consider a Gentle leader or Halti. Both are head harnesses that allow for quick correction of negative behavior and offer greater control than a simple leash and collar. Remember, positive reinforcement and consistency lead to better results when training your dog.
