Adopting a new dog is so much fun! Whenever bringing a new dog into the home, it should be done slowly with the existing animals already there to make the transition smoothly. The new dog should be kept separated from the other animals when home alone to avoid any problems, and their interactions should be monitored when you are home so you can separate them at any problem. I'm not sure if you have any additional animals in the home, but if you have cats for example, it's normal they will hiss at the dog. Do not allow them to swipe at the dog, separating them right away if you notice the cat getting upset. Also do not allow the dog to chase the cats. If you don't have any other animals in your home, then just be patient with the dog as it acclimates to his new house. Moving into a new home can be stressful, and some dogs may not eat or drink at first. This will pass in time. We are currently residing in china. The vets here have two different ways of spaying, one the dog is kept for 4 days the other the dog goes home same day. I'm guessing they have different procedures... Which would be the right one?
I don't know much about how they spay dogs in China, but I can't say I have ever heard of a dog requiring a four day hospital stay after this procedure. Here in the USA, most dogs will either go home the same day or the day after the procedure. Although a spay is an intra-abdominal procedure were an organ is removed, they tend to wake up well and not particularly painful. Unless they are using some method in China that is far more involved, I would think that the same day method is more in line with realistic.

Tucker was being given 5mg Pepcid at 7:30am and 7:30pm. He last had Pepcid at 7:30 this morning. My vet has now prescribed 10mg Omeprazole to start tonight instead of Pepcid. Is it safe to give them both in one day since they are 12+ hours apart? A
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Pepcid and Omeprazole can be given in the same day and are even safe to give together. It is also ok if he punctures the capsule, though he may not like the taste. You can try pill pockets or using canned food to give the pill in if he can tolerate that. I hope this helps!
