It sounds like Skye is all squared away for her adventure. Just be aware of the temperature and her level of stress. Make sure she gets a break and is offered water. Begin with very small walks and increase the duration if she is tolerant of them. I would also make sure she is microchipped in case she gets loose.

Is she food motivated? Using treats to entice and reward her maybe helpful. Also, seeking the advice from your veterinarian about using antianxiety pheromones and possibly medications may be helpful as she is adjusting. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This can of course be an issue as she could eat something tha perhaps upsets her stomach or even worse that causes an obstruction. The best thing is to teach her by continuously letting her know that that is unacceptable behavior. Otherwise, another option is using a basket muzzle when going outside which may prevent her from getting things in her mouth. Good luck and have a great day!

I'm concerned that she pants when going outside, and that tells me she's really distressed. I do think it's causing her extra stress to go outside, and I would stop it for now. Put a cat tree by a window so she can look outside.

Hi there and thank you for posting your question! I would recommend rewarding Montana every time she goes outside. This will help reinforce that she gets rewarded every time she goes outside and hopefully she will understand that going outside and going to the bathroom ends with a treat. You can look into calming products such as the adaptil collar comma if she is experiencing anxiety outside. More frequent walks outside may help encourage her to do her business outside. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
