No, there are no herbal medications that can help with this condition. i don't know what medication your vet prescribed but asthma can be well controlled with prednisolone alone. this treatment will cost you less than 10$ a month (!!), i'm sure you can afford that.

My cat has been having some issues breathing. We have him on an antibiotic from vet. He has taken three doses but seems to get really bad once evening hits. Can this be asthma?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Breathing issues can be a sign of many conditions such as pneumonia, bronchitis, heart disease, asthma, among many other possibilities. This could certainly be due to asthma which is not treated with antibiotics but rather it is treated with steroids and other medications. Since he has not improved, I recommend that you have Oscar reevaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Likely diagnostics to be performed include thoracic radiographs and bloodwork. Treatment would be dependent on findings. Good luck and have a good night!

Hydroxyzine has mild bronchodilation effects. There are more effective medications that can be given orally or even inhaled. If Sahsa's asthma is severe enough, he may need stronger anti inflammatory medications. Discuss alternative treatments and options with your veterinarian. Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. I'm sorry to hear that your cat is suffering from asthma. Generally, oral steroids such as prednisolone are used in the treatment of asthma. However, there are also inhaled steroids, such as fluticasone, that can be used to treat asthma. These are administered via an inhaler for cats, such as an AeroKat, which can be purchased online from something like amazon.com. I recommend asking if your veterinarian can prescribe a fluticasone inhaler for your cat. This helps deliver steroids directly to the lungs, and reduces the risk of the side effects we see with systemic (oral) steroids. Fluticasone inhalers can be very expensive in the US, but may be available for purchase from an international pharmacy like a Canadian pharmacy, with a prescription from your veterinarian. There is an injection called depo medrol, i personally do not recommend it as potential side effects can be very serious. the better option in my opinion are tablets, prednisolone tablets for cats are very small and easily hidden in gravy or wet food. most cats eat the wet food and never even suspect there is a tablet inside. it's not a big deal if you are 1-2 hours late.
