Hello there and thank you for using Pet Coach! Pumpkin is a great additive as it does have several benefits. While I do not think it must be a staple in the diet, it is a healthy additive. Pumpkin can aid in controlling weight, digestive health and even has shown some urinary health benefits. Many of the higher quality foods will include pumpkin in their diets. If you are planning on feeding this to the cats, it should not be a problem. I would give 1/2 - 1 tsp daily for the average sized cat. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. I am also available via consultation if needed.

Hello, thank you for using Pet Coach. Unfortunately there are no food toppers that I am aware of that will be suitable for a cat with kidney disease. Sticking to a strict prescription kidney diet is the BEST treatment for kidney disease and I don't suggest you stray from that. I don't know if you are only feeding Tony the dry formula but most come also as canned food so you could always top off with the canned food. You could even puree it into a gravy if you wish. Hope this helps. Happy holidays!

I recommend feeding an all meat canned or wet diet with added canned plain pumpkin. Cats do not do well with carbohydrates so feeding only meat will help Pumpkin lose weight. The canned pumpkin will help fill her up and add fiber and bulk up the stool to prevent constipation. Increasing her exercise also will help. You can feed her up on the dryer or a table so she has to jump up, and having her increase her activity chasing toys or a laser pointer will help also. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for Pumpkin.

Hi and thanks for your post! You can try either adding a few tablespoons of plain canned pumpkin (not the pie filling) to help fill her up or you can try switching to a different diet- Royal Canin Satiety Food which can help satisfy hunger. This is a prescription diet from Katy's veterinarian. I would ask her veterinarian if they feel this diet would be right for Katy. I hope this helps and thanks for using Boop by Petco!

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! If you are unable to afford medications or supplements you could try adding 1 teaspoon of canned pumpkin to her meals which may help with constipation and also to regulate her stools. Good luck!
