Can u use a certain product on mice if it not saying not for animal use sometimes my mice do smell what causes it r cage granules ok long as they don't eat it
Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco. I would definitely avoid any product that says it is not animal safe. Mice are fastidious groomers, & will consume anything left on their bodies. You must clean the cage & replace any bedding that is soiled immediately to control odors. If the cage is clean, the mice will not smell too bad. If the cage granules indicate they can be used with mice, then by all means use it. Otherwise, use a rodent friendly substrate to keep your mice happy & healthy. Take care.

You cannot tell if he is sick by his voice, you should check his activity levels, pooping and appetite- those are the better indications. Wood pellets and other types of pellets are usually a better option than wood shavings as far as bedding goes.

I use Yesteday News which is pelleted litter made from recycled newspaper. They also have pelleted pine litter. The pellets are bigger and don’t track out of the litter box, and don’t stick to their feet. I use just a small amount and clean it daily. I also have a robot vacuum and it vacuums daily on a schedule so the house is clean without me having to do it. The vacuum was one of my favorite purchases ever! Dachshunds tend to be snugglers, and also love to be buried (like under a blanket!). I'd look into a dog bed (or even a large cat bed) that has a [clamshell or hooded design](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/harmony-hooded-cave-cat-bed-in-grey) that she can crawl into and be covered up by it. Have you considered a guinea pig? Guinea pigs are relatively affordable pets and are considered a good companions and social. But, bear in mind that guinea pigs do best when paired with another guinea pig of the same sex, which can increase your costs. The guinea pigs need a large cage to live in, which usually cost less than $50. Bedding, food and toys can get pricey, but you can save by purchasing fresh veggies on sale.
