I am sorry if my answer was not clear. The Purina ProPlan Focus Puppy Chicken and Rice is a regular puppy formula. It is not specific to small or large breed dogs and this would be most appropriate for her given your veterinarian's recommendation. You are correct in that large and small breed formulas exist, but this is neither. I hope this information helps!

Congrats on your new puppy! Any of the Purina Pro-plan foods are good and they meet WSAVA guidelines for good nutrition. Just make sure to change your puppy slowly to the new food by adding a little bit more of it each day and a little less of the old food.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! There are many great diets out there that you may find at your local pet store. I personally prefer the Purina Pro Plan shredded blends for puppies as they are generally inexpensive, are of great quality and dogs seems to love it. For the amount to feed her, I advice you follow the guidelines that you will find in the back of the bag. Keep in mind that you should get the puppy blend. Also, keep in mind that as she grows, you will notice in the back of the bag that it will advice you feed her more. When she becomes a year old, she should be switched to an adult diet. Good luck and have a good night!

Thank you for using Boop by Petco. Large breed puppy formula’s are formulated specifically for the slower growth of large breed dogs. Large breeds can develop orthopedic diseases such as hypertrophic osteodystrophy and panosteitis related to caloric intake, fat and protein. Large breed dog food have been developed to provide optimum nutrition while reducing the risk of these disorders. I would definitely recommend keeping Charlie on a large breed puppy formula. Parina pro plan is a great choice. Here is a bit more information. Thanks for using Boop by Petco! You have probably noticed the very large variety of diets available in the market. I personally prefer the Purina Pro Plan and Hill's diets as they are palatable and also good in terms of ingredients. Both of these companies have their own puppy diets. There is currently no strong scientific evidence that grains are harmful and should be avoided so I do not really pay attention to that. Good luck!
