I would be very concerned that he ate some of the plant or has an intestinal/stomach blockage. Your cat needs to get checked out by a veterinarian and potentially blood tests and/or X-rays done as some plants can cause kidney failure or liver issues.

The problem with these streamers is that they can cause a linear foreign body, which leads to symptoms such as lethargy, anorexia, diarrhea, and vomiting. It could have been painful to have that streamer removed from his behind, which may be why Theo is hiding. I would monitor him for now, and if he hasn't passed any more streamers by tomorrow, I would have him seen by a vet for a physical exam and x-rays. If the streamers are causing a linear foreign body in his intestines, he will need surgery to remove them.

Hi and thank you for your post. Lethargy along with hiding and rapid breathing are signs of a concerning health issue that should be addressed at your nearest clinic very soon. It is hard to say for sure whether this is anxiety related or not without examining Pusheen first, but it may be unlikely given the symptoms you mentioned. My advice is to take Pusheen to her veterinarian soon to rule out more serious health concerns. Thank you for using Boop by Petco and best wishes to you!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Louie! Unfortunately, EVERY part of the Lily is very toxic and deadly to cats. It causes acute kidney failure. Time is of the essence and I urge you to take Louie to an open Veterinary Emergency hospital for care. It is not wise to wait until tomorrow because sadly it could be too late to reverse the damage to his kidneys. You could also call the Pet Poison hotline (there is a charge) but they will tell you the same thing. http://www.petpoisonhelpline.com/ I hope this helps and I wish Louie the best! https://www.petcoach.co/article/6-common-plants-that-are-poisonous-to-pets/

I would recommend finding a vet that would be able to see Pusheen. If it is a larvae from a bot fly this would need to be removed. The larvae have to be removed carefully since they can induce anaphylactic reactions if not. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.
