I'm sorry Bane has been so sick! It sounds like the Rachel Ray food you gave him may be the cause of this vomiting, as a sudden change in diet can cause these symptoms. The food itself could be causing the symptoms as well. Given that he is still vomiting and won't eat, it's best that Bane is seen by a vet right away. He may need anti-nausea medication to stop the vomiting, which the vet can give him. In addition, because both your dogs experienced vomiting from that food, I would not feed it to them any more. I personally never recommend feeding dogs grain free food unless they have allergies. Dogs do need grains, they are beneficial to their health. I recommend feeding Royal Canin, Hill's Science diet, Purina ProPlan, or Iams.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Chewy. When evaluating diets, I look for foods that are certified by AAFCO. This a regulatory group that ensures the food is healthy and nutritionally balanced for your dog. Next, the dog needs to eat and seem to enjoy the food. He should not have vomiting or diarrhea on the diet or an excessive amount of bowel movements. These are indications that the diet does not agree with him. His hair coat should be glossy as well. I hope this information helps!

Hello. Any of the 3 will be fine. The problem with all 3 of these companies is they do absolutely no true feeding trials with their diets. All of their information comes out of a laboratory. There are basically only 3 companies that do actual feeding trials on living dogs, Hills, Royal Canin & Purina. If you want the best go with these, otherwise, any of the 3 you mentioned will be fine. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Every dog is a little different and you may have to experiment a bit to find the food that Roscoe tolerates the best. I don't know what your budget is, or what is specifically available in your area, but here are a few brand options: Natural Balance Taste of the Wild Merrick Canidae Most of these brands offer grain free treats as well. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Hi there. I normally recommend feeding a food like Royal Canin, Iams, or Purina. These companies have a great deal of research behind their diets to prove that they are complete and balanced, and provide appropriate nutrition for whatever age or life stage the food is labeled for - puppies, adult dogs, seniors, etc. There is no particular benefit to feeding a grain-free diet unless your dog happens to be allergic to some type of grain, which isn't very common - most food allergies in dogs are to proteins such as chicken, beef, etc. If you think that Gary has food allergies, you may want to talk to your veterinarian about doing a diet trial with a prescription hypoallergenic diet such as Purina HA or Hills z/d.
