For my cats I definitely have to have tick protection cause we have bobcat disease around here. Also need flea meds and have seen meds for ear mites and heartworms. What can I get that covers all. Can I use two at the same time to cover all?

vet said to get flea preventive for our two cats... The dogs seem to have them and are being treated. Vet recommended Revolution or Advantage. The cats are 8 and 10 years old.
Hello, I agree with your veterinarian's recommendations. Advantage Multi for cats is a good product which covers against fleas, roundworms, ear mites, hook worms and heart worm so this may be a good product. Revolution does the same, although the advantage multi ingredient seems to be more effective against heart worms. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Does Revolution cat flea med last more than 30 days? I'm out & waiting for order to ship & my 13 y/o kitty wants outside. Last dose was 33 days ago.
From the Revolution website: "For the prevention of heartworm disease, Revolution must be administered on a monthly basis. Revolution may be administered year-round or at least within one month after the animal’s first exposure to mosquitoes and monthly thereafter until the end of the mosquito season. If a dose is missed and a monthly interval between dosing is exceeded then immediate administration of Revolution and resumption of monthly dosing will minimize the opportunity for the development of adult heartworms. For the prevention and control of flea infestations, Revolution should be administered at monthly intervals throughout the flea season, starting one month before fleas become active. " Now, other heartworm preventatives, I've been told, have a bit of a grace period, about a week of wiggle room between doses. I haven't been told that specifically about Revolution. If your vet will sell you a single dose, that would tide you over until your order comes.

We have been giving our cat Revolution and just realized it doesn't cover ticks. We just have him his monthly dose too! Is there any supplemental product we can give for ticks today/or this month?
You are correct, revolution will not kill ticks and is only effective against fleas, heartworm,intestinal roundworm, hookworm and ear mites. If ticks are a threat in your area than a product containing fipronil (frontline spray) can be used after 10-14days When next treatment is due, discuss broader treatments with your vet including broadline (ticks, fleas and worms) spot on or using separate internal and external parasite preventions to treat fleas/ticks and worms separately to ensure all risks are covered

The most comprehensive protection you can get that is also the easiest to apply and has very, very few side effects would be Revolution. I highly recommend this. I will provide broad spectrum coverage for fleas, roundworms, hookworms, ear mites, scabies, etc. This will give you peace of mind.
