Hello my cat is an inside and out cat, I live in Florida. I have two litter boxes for him it is a clumping brand so it's an easy clean up, he has no problem using them. the question is the box I have put outside is clumping with out my cat using it,
If the box is not covered I would recommend doing so but otherwise try a wood pellet based litter which can be quite similar in texture; you may need to try a few brands until you find one that is acceptable to Storm!

I bought new covered litter boxes. My cats have never used those before. I can't use the same rooms inhaled the old ones in, due to these are much larger. How do I make them use the new covered boxes?
This could be tough if the cats have never used covered boxes before. If you have any of the used litter from the old boxes, put this in the boxes so it has their scent. Make sure to use the same type and brand of cat litter. It may help to leave the boxes uncovered for a few days o allow the cats to get in the habit of using the new boxes, then put the cover on. I have a cat and was wanting to know if using a litter box with a lid was bad for her. My grandma said she for some reason thinks that is what killed her cat
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! There is nothing wrong with using a litter box with a lid. Some cats do not like boxes with lids so that would be the only problem but if you start at a young age (like you are) there may not be any problems with using it. Kisses to Nala!

Can you please suggest the best litter box for an adult (121/2) years old who is blind in left eye, right eye is fuzzy...Lucy has been suffering with mobility issues especially with left hind leg. I appreciate any feedback and suggestions
Thank you for submitting your question regarding Lucy. If she has mobility and vision issues, I recommend using a non-traditional litterbox. You can purchase a large storage container such as a Sterilite. Then use the lid as a litterbox. This provides a large surface area with a very low lip. It will be messy if she digs and buries, but I have had many geriatric patients prefer this to a normal litterbox. I hope this information helps!

I am sorry to hear about your frustrations with your kitties! It could definitely be the change in litterboxes. Many cats are finicky about their bathroom behavior and changes may upset them. I would consider taking the top off the new box temporarily until they become used to it, and once they are using it regularly you can add the top. Some cats may never be comfortable with a covered litterbox, but hopefully with time they will become used to it. Also be sure you haven't changed the litter type at the same time as changes in litter type can also upset them. You can also try taking some soiled litter from a used litterbox to provide some scent that may encourage them to use the new box.
