You're welcome! I'm not entirely sure what brands are offered in India, but [here are some good foods](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/category/bird/bird-food-and-treats/bird-food/parrot-hookbill-food) from our store that can give you a template of what kind of food to feed Meenu. Any formula for parrots or hookbills should be appropriate for conures. Most pet stores will carry something similar, so if you have one nearby you can use this list to shop for similar ingredients. Adding in some fresh fruits and veggies as snacks and treats can also help round out Meenu's diet and make things more exciting for her!

Congratulations on your new bird! Conures are wonderful pets and can be lifelong friends. I'm not sure exactly what kind of advice you're looking for based on your question, but I'll try to give you my general new-bird-owner advice in hopes that it will help. If not, please feel free to post a more specific question. - Be sure that the cage for Felipe is not only secure, but large enough to allow for his complete wingspan and at least a little bit of flight. This is especially true if he will be spending a lot of time in his cage (like while you're at work). - Psychological stimulation is very important to conures - they're like toddlers. Offer several toys in Felipe's cage. Commercial bird toys are usually great, and you can find lots at your local pet store, or a big-box store like Petco. They love to tear things up, so paper to shred and cardboard boxes can be great, cheap toys for them as well. - If you're offering water in a bowl, you'll need to change it at least once daily. Mos

Rawhide has been and is used in some toys. Most birds (mine included) ignore it. It can be chewed, but monitor to make sure Maxcine doesn't ingest large bits. I wouldn't recommend rawhide from the local butcher.

Harrison's Bird Diet is the best food out there. It is pelleted so there can be some resistance from your bird transitioning to the new diet if he has been on a seed diet, but it is nutritionally complete and very high quality. Toys I find that lovebirds like have been cotton rope toys that they can preen and groom like the feathers of another bird.

Vitamin A is found in good concentration with foods like mangos, carrots, papaya and other orange-colored fruits and vegetables. Dark, leafy greens also have high concentrations of Vitamin A. All of these are good additions to your parrot's diet. The sugary fruits will often be the favorites, so try not to feed too much of these. They will fill up on these and not eat the other nutritious, yet less appealing, foods that are available. You can start adding these to the diet anytime now. I did not know much about Dr. Harvey's bird food, so I had to do a little research. The first place I visited was the website and I came away with some issues about this food. The first thing I noticed was that the food was heavy with nuts and seeds. These foods are dense with fats that can be unhealthy for a bird to eat as their sole diet. I read the bio page and it claims that Dr. Harvey is a nutritionist with over 30 years of research in the product. However, none of the research is ava
