What are suitable diets for a dog, cat and a horse including water requirements?
Dog: A commercial diet food such as Royal Canin, Hill's Science diet, Purina ProPlan, or Iams. It's best to feed a dog a high quality commercial diet because it is extremely difficult to get the correct balance of nutrients a dog needs to be healthy. A dog should have as much water as they want, and it's best to have a source of fresh water available at all times. Cat: As with cats, a commercial diet is best. Cats are obligate carnivores, and they have to have specific levels of protein as well as essential amino acids in order to be healthy. Cats should never be fed a vegetarian diet as that is fatal to them. I'd recommend a high quality cat food such as Royal Canin, Hill's Science diet, Purina ProPlan, or Iams. As with dogs, cats should have access to a source of fresh water at all times. Horse: Horses have specific dietary needs because they are herbivores and have a long digestive track. Could you please recommend some good dog dental products?
Hi there and thank you for using Pet Coach! Here is a list of the products I typically recommend: 1. CET oral rinse 2. CET enzymatic toothpaste 3. Oravet chews 4. Plaque off 5. CET chlorhexidine chews Not all of these will work but I have had some mixed success using all of these. My favorite is the Oravet chew as it employs an additive known as Delmopinol to prevent tartar formation. Oravet chews are only available in veterinary clinics so you may have a hard time finding this one online. All of the other products you can find online. I hope this helps! Hello again! I’m now a vet on a meatworks plant, so I’m the perfect person to answer this. Cats and dogs are never used in pet food, but horses can be used. So can deer, ostriches, goats, and bison among other mammals. I hope this helps!

Hello. Petco carries a number of products that might help. Zymox makes a spray & a salve that contains hydrocortisone, that can really help with the itching. On-line, you can find many more products such as shampoos & conditioners that also contain hydrocortisone. Topicals only work for short periods of time. Longer relief can be obtained with immunostimulants such as Apoquel & Cytopoint, both available from your veterinarian. Your pet may also have additional issues such as skin mites, fleas, bacterial & yeast infections in the skin, & your veterinarian can certainly help to sort some of these issues out. Hi there and thank you for your post! Those choices are great- Simparica is an excellent flea and tick preventative and heartgard is an excellent heartworm preventative. The shampoo you mentioned is good too. If she is itching or licking her paws frequently, she may have an allergy to something in the environment (like a seasonal allergy) or she may have a food allergy. You should be okay with the Simparica but you may want to request unflavored HeartGard in case she has a food allergy. Typically if an animal is allergic to grains, it is typically when they ingest them. If you are concerned about the oatmeal shampoo, you may want to try a shampoo that is aloe based instead.
