An immediate veterinary check up is needed. Fish may have got spiky bones in it, or may have been not in good hygiene status. Considering his age and the signs you are describing an examination is necessary to shed some light on the underlying cause of it. Antibiotics and nutritional support may be needed as well.

If you are feeding flakes, the fish may be swallowing air while feeding. This may account for the signs you are seeing. After a period of time, the fish may expel the air and right themselves. Try feeding a pelleted or stick diet that sinks to prevent gulping air at mealtimes.

There may be a variety of causes for it: - When introducing new food you have not fed to your fish before it is best not to feed them for a day. -You should ideally feed bloodworms only if your fishes are carnivorous or omnivorous -buy good quality ones. - in my experience many fishes do not like frozen and thawed ones. The fish that you are describing is Apolcheilus lineatus commonly known as the Golden Wonder Killifish. By looking at the images that were attached it appears to be a male (females are typically less colorful ).

Thanks for reaching out about Hidesy. A veterinary visit is highly recommended. Clove oil is an approved anesthetic in fish and can be acquired at many health food stores. If you anesthetized the fish, you might be able to extract and stop the choking. First, try and find a veterinarian, now. Good luck.
