Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Sorry to hear that Leo is having a tick problem. Tick protection is important because depending on where you live, Ticks can transmit many devastating tick borne diseases. There are many products out there including topicals and a few collars. Some of these products will require a veterinary prescription and some are over the counter (OTC). Topical products include Frontline Plus, Advantix, Vectra 3D, Effitix, Activyl, Paradefense, etc. There are some oral medicines out also called Bravecto and Nexgard. The two collars out there that work are Preventic and Seresto. I would advise calling your vet to at least discuss what they recommend in your area and go from there. From a cost standpoint, the Seresto collar (fleas/ticks, 8 months of coverage, waterproof) is probably the most affordable. You can look online for purchasing options. Good luck and I hope this helps.

The Seresto collar is available for any dog under 18lbs. You will require the small dog collar. These collars last eight months and kill fleas and ticks. In my opinion, they are the best thing around for prevention. This is particularly important for your, as you are living in Reading, which has an extremely high population of lyme-infected deer ticks. If you plan on allowing your dog to be submerged in water for any length of time, you should remove the collar. If you do not, the collar is still good but will only last for five months.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Fleas are super smart and have developed resistance to a lot of products. In the US we see fleas that are resistant to Frontline. Maybe a little less to Advantix/Advantage. Personally I think the new oral flea and tick preventions are the best: Nexgard and Simparica are monthly and Bravecto is one pill every 3 months. Also the Seresto collar is great and good value for the money, the collar lasts 8 months. These products are not cheap, they cost about $16/dose. But they are prescription from a Vet only. The price is worth the efficacy and it will save you in the long run from trying multiple products, bombing your house, etc plus it will help your dog quicker. I hope this helps and have a great day!

I am sorry to hear about Shadow's tick problem! I would consider a Seresto collar for your dog. They last up to 8 months and are effective against fleas and ticks. The tick doesn't have to bite your dog to be killed. https://www.petbasics.com/dog-products/seresto-for-dogs/?pref=dog.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Anjel. There are great products on the market now: 1) edible products like Nexgard, Simparica and Bravecto 2) Collars that last 8 months like Seresto. I recommend calling your Vet and asking which products they carry! Good luck!
