Happy Easter to you too! Normally, it's best to have female dogs spayed between the ages of 4 - 6 months, so she should be ready to have this done now. And yes, a spay is usually an outpatient procedure that does not require an overnight stay at most clinics - but you can double-check with your vet's office about their policy to be sure :)

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! What an exciting time. You would need to start by getting a high quality diet (I like the Purina Pro Plan diets though there are plenty to choose from). Also, a dog bed and toys will be important as well. I recommend that you check with your veterinarian to get him in for initiation of vaccines and to start other preventative care medications such as flea and tick preventatives and heartworm preventatives. Good luck and enjoy your pup!

Hi and thank you for your post! Wouldn't it be great if dogs could just put in a work out video? :) While you are away at work, he may not get much exercise until you come back and are able to take him for a walk or play. In that case, I would investigate a dog walker that can come to your home once or twice while you are away at work to walk and play with Tank. There is an app you can get on your phone called Wag and it works like an uber only it's for dog walkers. You can request a dog walker just like you request an uber at a moment's notice. I hope you are able to find someone to come visit Tank while you are away! Best to you and Tank! Thank you for using Boop by Petco.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! It looks a little red but it could just be the coloring of the picture. As long as there is no heat, swelling or discharge it should be ok. There is a doughnut collar that may work- it blows up around the neck. A shirt would work too. One of those should help you out. Good luck and kisses to your pup!

Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. Typically a combination of drugs is administered prior to the procedure. I typically like giving the pre-medication 15-20 minutes prior to the procedure. This should not set her back and once she is out of the unfamiliar vet clinic, she should be fine. You can ask the veterinarian to pre-medicate her prior to the procedure so that she is not so stressed out. It is not necessary to keep dogs that have been spayed overnight. All of my spay procedures go home that exact same day. If you feel she will be too stressed out while there, I would be more apt to have you keep Sie at home for the post-op recovery period. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
