Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco. I would recommend using the below products as I have found they work the best with these cases. If after using these there is no improvement, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her in case oral antibiotics / antifungals are needed. I hope these help! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further! 1. Douxo PS Chlorhexidine combination shampoo and bathe twice weekly until resolved 2. Douxo PS mousse and apply once daily until resolved 3. Welactin omega 3 fish oil capsules for dogs 4. Essential 6 spot on by Dermoscent

Hi there. I'm afraid the only thing you can get over the counter for a bacterial infection would be a topical spray such as Vetericyn or Nutri-Vet - these products can sometimes be effective for something like a minor, localized skin infection. For anything more serious, you'll need to get prescription antibiotics from your veterinarian. Vetco clinics only do wellness care (vaccines, fecal exams, etc.), not visits for any type of medical problem - so if you think that Gunner has an infection, I would recommend making an appointment with a regular full-service veterinary office in your area for an exam and treatment.

Human products can be used but you’ll need to keep him in a cone so he doesn’t lick the medication. Veterinary products are recommended since they are designed for pets. They have several over the counter medications at PetCo that will be effective to treat his spots. I recommend bathing him first in a medicated shampoo then using a hotspot type medication on the sores. If they aren’t healing or getting worse then please take him in for an exam and treatment. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for Soleil.

Hello. Petco carries a number of products that might help. Zymox makes a spray & a salve that contains hydrocortisone, that can really help with the itching. On-line, you can find many more products such as shampoos & conditioners that also contain hydrocortisone. Topicals only work for short periods of time. Longer relief can be obtained with immunostimulants such as Apoquel & Cytopoint, both available from your veterinarian. Your pet may also have additional issues such as skin mites, fleas, bacterial & yeast infections in the skin, & your veterinarian can certainly help to sort some of these issues out. If the over the counter products do not seem to be controlling her symptoms, then please consider checking Chancla out with your veterinarian. Thanks for contacting Boop by Petco.
