Any safety tips to prepare for Halloween?
While Halloween may be fun for us, it can be stressful for pets. Before the trick-or-treaters start ringing the doorbell, be sure that your pet is safely confined in a crate or room so that they don’t escape amidst the chaos. Keep any candy or treats out of reach of pets. Chocolate is toxic to pets, and many other treats or candies can lead to gastrointestinal upset or pancreatitis. If your pet becomes excessively anxious when the doorbell rings repeatedly, discuss solutions with your veterinarian.

Petco should have an inflatable collar that works like an e-collar. It looks a lot like an inflated inner tube and it helps keep her from being able to turn her head far enough to reach her incision site.

Our old harness is broken. I was wondering if you have any product recommendations or at least any ideas for a new harness? I've found some cute and comfortable one in a store in Germany but I don't know when I will be visiting Germany again.
How lucky of you to visit Germany recently! I would check to see if it's possible to ship the ones you like from Germany to Bosnia & Herzegovina. I'm not very familiar with the inventory of dog harnesses in your country, and given that many things can easily be shipped, it might be the best idea to have the cute and comfortable ones you say in Germany shipped to your home :-)

My miniature dachshund is almost 5 months old and we currently walk him with a collar and lead- which would be better - a collar or harness? I know this breed can have back problems so just wanted an experts opinion.
I bet Hugo is just adorable!! You are correct that Dachshunds are prone to spinal issues. I would recommend finding a well-fitting harness for Hugo so that he can continue to enjoy walks-this will take pressure off his neck and reduce the likelihood of cervical/neck problems. I would also recommend enrolling Hugo and yourself in an obedience class so that he learns how to walk correctly on a leash-this will prevent him from pulling and can also help reduce the chances of problems. Monitor Hugo carefully-if you notice weakness or pain during movement, if he seems to have have problems with bowel or bladder function, or he is not interested in running and playing as usual these can all be indications of a spinal problem and you should contact your regular veterinarian immediately. Consider getting Hugo some little stairs so he doesn’t have to jump onto the couch (if you let him on the furniture), or train him to wait for someone to lift him up and down. Dogs should not be left in a crate with a collar on, or left unsupervised anywhere where there is something that could get hooked on the collar, as this poses a potential strangulation risk. They should also not be left unsupervised while playing with other dogs with a collar on, as this could lead to strangulation if the other dog grabs the collar. You can remove the collar at night if your dog is in a secure area where he cannot accidentally get loose or escape, as you can't monitor Oscar at night while sleeping.
