Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Too funny! Finn is cute! I recommend purchasing the child safety door guards sold at baby stores or online. They prevent children from opening doors. I’m not sure how he manages but he is amazing! I hope this helps!

There are different products available online. Here are two websites that you can look at. If the flap isn't in use you can cut a piece of wood or cardboard to the size of the door and slide it into the ridges around the flap (it looks like there are inserts for this from your photos). Making sure to keep all food picked up and away from the entry and outside can also help deter curious critters from poking around any more and the light may help. I haven't heard of lavender, rosemary, or mint deterring raccoons, (peppermint sometimes works with rodents) so I would avoid that as it may just attract more curiosity.

I have 5 cats and live in the same kind of environment. Our cats are also inside outside cats and I can tell you how we manage: 1) we feed twice a day wet food and call the cats for it. They come running for their food, we use the same call every time. This ensures that your cats come home when you call them. 2) Our cats are to be inside at night. ie we do not let them out after the evening feed. 3) they can go out if they wish, after the morning feed. Most predators hunt at dusk and dawn. So this minimizes the opportunity for contact of the cats with predators. If you can replace door handles with door knobs, the cats cannot open the doors anymore. We have been doing this for 12 years now, and have not lost a cat yet.

Hi, in terms of cat furniture don’t worry cats don’t need anything particularly fancy. They enjoy sitting on a shelf as in the picture and look outside the window. You would add some cardboard boxes that can also work as cratching posts and a couple of pillow on the bookshelf. I think the feeding area would better be moved, because being right in front of the windows is exposed, they can see/be seen and could spot something that might upset them. It is also advisable to keep feeding areas away from their litter tray and perhaps moving it would help increasing this distance. Are there only two cats in the room ? If so also consider the number of litter trays. I mo not sure how many you have at present, and if things work out well I probably would suggest not to change them. You can find lots of ideas in building/creating cat furniture from ikea furniture if you fancy a change in the future. Also cats will need to be active and interact with you so make sure you consider this in your rou
