Getting a new puppy? What should I do to prepare for their arrival?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! What an exciting time. You would need to start by getting a high quality diet (I like the Purina Pro Plan diets though there are plenty to choose from). Also, a dog bed and toys will be important as well. I recommend that you check with your veterinarian to get him in for initiation of vaccines and to start other preventative care medications such as flea and tick preventatives and heartworm preventatives. Good luck and enjoy your pup!

My dog isn't crate trained. How to introduce a new dog safely?
I would recommend getting the other dog crate trained so when you are not home your new dog can be crated. I would not start crating Joe because you adopted another dog. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.

Why does my new dog keep peeing inside? How can I potty train him?
I would start at the basics and crate train him. This means getting him and crate and leaving him in there when you cannot monitor him. When he is outside of his crate, I would take him outside every hour and then 30 minutes after he eats/drinks. I will put a few links below to help reteach him how to be potty trained. If he is really anxious in a crate, you may consider getting him a calming collar like adaptil and calming chews like composure or the prescription version composure pro. You could also set up the crate with some calming essential oils near by but you will need to get some that are proven to be safe for dogs. My new puppy cries in the crate. Should I make him sleep in his crate?
That all depends on the puppy. Crating tends to be safer because the puppy cannot get into potential harmful things. It also tends to help with house breaking.
