Thanks for using Boop by Petco! What an exciting time. You would need to start by getting a high quality diet (I like the Purina Pro Plan diets though there are plenty to choose from). Also, a dog bed and toys will be important as well. I recommend that you check with your veterinarian to get him in for initiation of vaccines and to start other preventative care medications such as flea and tick preventatives and heartworm preventatives. What are the best dog and puppy food and treat brands to buy?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I personally like the Purina Pro Plan diets as well as the Hill's Science Diet foods as I think they are both palatable and highly nutritious. What do I need to buy for my new 1-month-old kitten at Petco?
Congratulations!! I would recommend making sure you get kitten appropriate toys, two litter boxes and kitten food. At 1 month of age I would recommend a wet kitten food. I would also recommend clumping litter for her. You can always get her other fun stuff like a soft bed for her. I would hold off on any treats until she gets used to her new home. What issues might an older pet store puppy have with training?
As long as he’s been well socialized then I’m not concerned. With crate training, leash walks to potty and praise and consistency he should be fairy easy to housebreak. Dogs that come from puppy mills or shelters where they are in cages all the time and not socialized can become shy and have some behavior problems, sometimes for a long time. Small dogs such as Paddington can be more challenging to train because they are cute and get carried around so be patient and stick to a daily routine.
