My dog is prescribed flixodent inhaler but has run out is it safe to give ventolin to relieve condition
Flixotide (fluticasone) and Ventolin (albuterol) are different drugs with different doses in dogs. It is not recommended to switch or medicate your dog with a different drug without first contacting your veterinarian. Ideally, if you can refill the original prescription, that should be the first option. If your veterinarian is unavailable or if there are no more refills on the prescription, then you'll likely need to have Maisy rechecked before a new prescription or different medication is dispensed. Legally, we are prohibited from recommending doses or different medication in the absence of a physical exam and a patient-veterinarian-client relationship.

No, there are no herbal medications that can help with this condition. i don't know what medication your vet prescribed but asthma can be well controlled with prednisolone alone. this treatment will cost you less than 10$ a month (!!), i'm sure you can afford that.

Hello. For the most part, veterinary drugs are equivalent to the human version of the same drug & visa versa. If your vet has no objections, he should readily write you a prescription so you can purchase the medication at any pharmacy you wish to use. Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. I'm sorry to hear that your cat is suffering from asthma. Generally, oral steroids such as prednisolone are used in the treatment of asthma. However, there are also inhaled steroids, such as fluticasone, that can be used to treat asthma. These are administered via an inhaler for cats, such as an AeroKat, which can be purchased online from something like amazon.com. I recommend asking if your veterinarian can prescribe a fluticasone inhaler for your cat. This helps deliver steroids directly to the lungs, and reduces the risk of the side effects we see with systemic (oral) steroids. Fluticasone inhalers can be very expensive in the US, but may be available for purchase from an international pharmacy like a Canadian pharmacy, with a prescription from your veterinarian. Unfortunately, we cannot (legally and ethically) advise medication without having an established patient-doctor relationship. It is also dangerous for us to advise medication without examining the animal and fully understanding their condition and medical history. The only place to get a prescription is through a veterinary clinic.
