There are many treatment options actually. Here they are: 1) Oral joint supplements like Dasuquin or Adequan is available over the counter 2) Fish oils (pet formulated from your local pet store). These have natural anti-inflammatory properties. 3) Analgesics- strictly for pain: Tramadol OR Gabapentin from your local vet 4) Glycoaminoglycans- weekly Adequan injections for 4-6 weeks is a very effective treatment for osteoarthritis in pets. 5) NSAIDs- pet formulated only and prescribed by your veterinarian. Carprofen, Deramaxx, etc. Here is more information on osteoarthritis in pets and effective treatments to reiterate what I have suggested here. http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=2863

You would need a current prescription from a veterinarian who has physically examined Duke. You can then place your order and submit the prescription. The pharmacy will then contact the veterinarian or clinic to confirm the prescription then fill the order.

Hi and thanks for posting on Boop by Petco! Cutting a pill into 1/5 has got to be very tricky even with a pill cutter! I would recommend consulting with Meg's veterinarian about getting her on a different medication that is easy to dose and doesn't require splitting the pill into small pieces. There are a variety of pain medications out there and available for arthritis that are much better and safer to use than paracetamol such as Rimadyl, Galliprant, or Previcox. I would ask your veterinarian if Meg could be transitioned over to a better alternative. I hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! In the US we do not charge to write prescriptions (as far as I know). The laws in the UK must be different. Robenacoxib are prescription so there is no way to get the drug with out your Vet approving the prescription, My suggestion is to ask for a larger supply, 3 months or more with refills. That way you do not have to pay the prescription fee that often. I hope this helps and have a great day!

I am sorry to hear about your dog! Unfortunately a veterinarian cannot legally prescribe you pain medication without examining your dog within the past year, so we cannot prescribe any medication through our online service. I would look into finding out if there is a low cost option for veterinary services in your area, such as a humane society or APL/APA. You can look for more resources on affording veterinary care at https://www.humanesociety.org/resources/having-trouble-affording-veterinary-care
