Yes, vetericyn would be ideal for this - it does indeed look a little wetter than would be expected. Monitor closely for any additional redness, discharge or fever and schedule a recheck if you have any additional concerns

These skin lesions are probably not from a bite. It looks like a mild skin infection. The Vetericyn you are using should be all you need. If you want to get this product and put it on after the Vetericyn has dried you can do that but it is probably not necessary, https://www.walgreens.com/store/c/walgreens-triple-antibiotic-with-pain-relief/ID=prod6210768-product

As long as he is not painful is able to walk on it, and is showing no signs of fever or poor appetite then yes vetericyn will help to keep it clean. It is quite possible however that stitching will not be possible in a wound that is no longer fresh so a immediate check would be recommended for speedy healing especially with his age

I suggest you get this wound spray and use it on the affected areas 3-4 times per day. If after a few days it is not looking better or it looks worse then you should have him to the vet for an exam. ( https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/vetericyn-animal-wound-and-skin-care-hydrogel )

You can use this wound spray gel, 3-4 times per day on the affected area. If she starts to act sick at any time (not eating, very lethargic, vomiting, etc) then she needs to see a vet. https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/vetericyn-cat-wound-and-skin-hydrogel
