These skin lesions are probably not from a bite. It looks like a mild skin infection. The Vetericyn you are using should be all you need. If you want to get this product and put it on after the Vetericyn has dried you can do that but it is probably not necessary, https://www.walgreens.com/store/c/walgreens-triple-antibiotic-with-pain-relief/ID=prod6210768-product

Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about Mitzy. Unfortunately there are no topical pain relievers for dogs. If you are concerned she is in pain from a wound, you can get pain medication from the vet. Best of luck.

As long as he is not painful is able to walk on it, and is showing no signs of fever or poor appetite then yes vetericyn will help to keep it clean. It is quite possible however that stitching will not be possible in a wound that is no longer fresh so a immediate check would be recommended for speedy healing especially with his age

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Sometimes, rest and some topical antiseptic such as Vetericyn wound spray are enough for minor wounds on the paw pads to heal. Vetericyn is available at most Petco locations and on Petco.com, so just apply as labeled topically; it is not harmful if small amounts are swallowed were she to lick it off of the area, though Alivas may need an Elizabethan collar to prevent her from licking the wound to allow it to heal. If the pain persists or the wound continues draining for longer than 1-2 more days, I would recommend having her seen by your Veterinarian, sooner if either her pain or the drainage worsen. Keep her activity level down until healed, especially off of rocks and other rough/sharp surfaces. I hope this helps!

Dogs can experience pain from a variety of health conditions, including [osteoarthritis](https://www.petcoach.co/dog/condition/arthritis-1/),[ dental disease](https://www.petcoach.co/dog/condition/dental-disease/), [urinary tract infections](https://www.petcoach.co/dog/condition/utis-in-dogs/) or traumatic injuries, among many others. While it is extremely difficult to see our four-legged friends in pain, there are no safe and effective over-the-counter medications for managing pain in dogs (or cats). Over the counter pain relievers for humans, such as ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin), acetaminophen (Tylenol) and naproxen (Aleve) are all toxic to animals. Aspirin should also not be given to dogs because it causes significant irritation and potential ulceration of the gastrointestinal tract, and it inhibits a dog’s ability to clot blood. If you think that your dog is in pain, your best bet is to take him to your veterinarian. After performing a [physical exam](https://www.petcoach.co/article
