Have you considered a guinea pig? Guinea pigs are relatively affordable pets and are considered a good companions and social. But, bear in mind that guinea pigs do best when paired with another guinea pig of the same sex, which can increase your costs. The guinea pigs need a large cage to live in, which usually cost less than $50. Bedding, food and toys can get pricey, but you can save by purchasing fresh veggies on sale.

Try to get to see the rabbit you are choosing for a bit so that you can make sure that he is social and interactive. Also, make sure that the rabbit is eating well and has been evaluated by a veterinarian to ensure that he is doing well. Good luck!

Sully is adorable! Thanks for including a picture. I wish I could give you a simple answer to your question, but every animal is different and some require a combination of products. I would say that about 50% of the animals I try it with have a good response to Rescue Remedy, so that is often my first choice for cats (especially since it can just be added to the water). I have not used the other products, but both appear to have ingredients that could be used alone or in combination with Rescue Remedy. Don't forget that natural supplements are much more variable than medications and will not sedate, so they are sometimes not enough for a very anxious cat. I also recommend combining supplements with a Feliway Diffuser ( https://www.feliway.com ) or a Comfort Zone Diffuser ( https://www.comfortzone.com/ ) in your house. This is a calming pheromone that will work for a month. You could also consider calming music specifically for cats ( http://throughadogsear.com/tace/through-a-ca

Hi! Hamsters can make great pets if they are socialized and handled gently. A standard hamster cage with a wheel, tunnels, a hide box, some soft bedding in which to burrow (like carefresh), fresh food and water are the basic needs of any pet hamster. If you want, you can add a network of tunnels to provide more exercise and enrichment opportunities. Hamsters can get sick and should only be fed hamster specific food items to decrease the chances of tooth and gastrointestinal problems. It’s also a good idea to take your new pet to the vet shortly after you get them so you have a baseline of health and have an established relationship with a vet in the event your hamster does become ill. Microchipping can be done at a Petco/Vetco. The cost is $15. You can contact the store directly for availability as it may only done during Vaccine Clinic events. You can get Carla microchipped there if not at the RP store. (Small world, I grew up in Rocky Point) :-)
