What are the best oral flea and tick prevention pills for small dogs?

I really like the following products for small dogs: Simparica (30 day protection per pill), Nexgard (30 day protection per pill) or Bravecto (90 day protection per pill). They all also do tick prevention as well and are flavoared, so they are relatively easy to give because your pet thinks its a treat. What's the best flea and tick product for my 10-year-old Shih Tzu dog?

Hi there! For fleas and ticks, the most effective products currently available are Nexgard and Bravecto. These are both beef-flavored soft chews that most dogs like. My dogs are on Bravecto at the moment, which has been working great for them :) You should be able to get these meds from your vet, or order them online with a prescription.

What are the best prescription flea and tick chews for my dogs?

The easiest way to do so is to go to your veterinarian and either buy the chews from him or get a prescription from your vet and get them over the internet. I am assuming you are looking to buy either Bravecto, Simparica or Nexgard. These are prescription only.

Is it safe to combine natural flea chews with flea powder for dogs & cats?

Yes, the products can be used together. Zodiac flea and tick powder can be quite irritating to a dog's eyes, nose, throat and lungs and is a very harsh chemical, so it is not my favorite method of flea control. I much prefer using a topical spot-op or oral flea and tick prevention which will work better and likely be safer and less irritating for Alice. The oral tablets are safe, but are likely not as effective as the other products on the market. What are the most effective medications to get rid of ticks on my dog?

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! There are many great medications on the market to prevent fleas and ticks. I like the oral medications that the dog just eats. Nexgard and Simparica are monthly and Bravecto in one chewable pill ever THREE months! There is also a great collar on the market that lasts for EIGHT months called Seresto.
