Hello my name is Katie Rodriguez. I have a bearded dragon and for two days know his been acting different. His been popping sticky runny stool, sleeping a lot, not active, and he has black lines on the bottom eye lids.
Hi Katie. Any abnormalities you are seeing with Zillo should be checked out by your vet. I don't see anything outwardly abnormal based on those photos. Most health issues that we see in reptiles is due to improper husbandry (diet, lighting, housing, etc) so I suggest you check and make sure you are doing everything 100% correct. Here is a good reference for you to read about Beaded Dragon husbandry. I also suggest you get him an exam with a reputable reptile vet - he could have intestinal parasites causing that are causing his problems. I have a 14 week old leopard gecko who I have had for 5 days and she/he doesn't really move away from along the edge of the heatmat apart from when i try to feed him/her then she goes to the other side of the vivarium or just stands up looking really
The tank may be too cold. If so, Rita will stay on the mat. Low temps can affect appetite and activity in reptiles. Maintain a basking spot temperature in the 90s F. This will produce a gradient of the mid 70s to 80s in the rest of the cage. You can soak her in a warm 50/50 solution of water and unflavored PediaLyte. This will warm her up and treat or prevent mild dehydration. Feed appropriately sized prey. Crickets or dubia roaches are recommended over mealworms for juvenile geckos. They should be no bigger than the space between her eyes. Gut load them for 24 hours prior to offering to maximize nutritional value.

Hello, I’d like to take proper care of my tortoise and I’d like to vary its diet but have no idea what I can feed it with. It really likes sunflower shoots but I know they’re not enough. I feed it with fruit from time to time. It mostly eats rocket.
Thanks for reaching out about Malusz. The proper diet will depend on the type of tortoise. Desert, Russian, box, all have different nutritional requirements. If you can follow up with the type of tortoise, exacting diet recommendations can be given. Good luck.

Check temps in the enclosure. Low temps can affect appetite and digestion in reptiles. Survey the area in and around the cage for any negative stimuli. Stress can lead to loose droppings. A stool sample should be submitted to diagnose parasites. Ideally, he should be seen by your veterinarian. If this is not possible, limit fruits and vegetables in the diet temporarily. You can feed greens and prey. Consider a probiotic to promote gut health. Soak him in a warm 50/50 solution of water and unflavored PediaLyte to treat or prevent minor dehydration.

A small enough piece should pass uneventfully. Monitor for lethargy, loss of appetite or lack of defecation. If necessary, see your veterinarian or an experienced herp vet. Soaking him in a warm 50/50 solution of water and unflavored PediaLyte will keep him well hydrated which can help the substrate pass easier.
