All of the Zymox products that I found are to treat irritation and inflammation, so they wouldn't be very good at prevention or specific treatment of infection. The best preventative would be a good ear cleaner 1-2 times per week or after getting out of water. I like Dechra EpiKlean Ear Cleanser as it is gentle and helps dry out the ear and remove debris. If you think that Wes already has an ear infection, then he would need have it diagnosed by a vet and get medications specific for his type of infection. Once cleared, you can continue with normal cleaning to prevent further ear infections!

Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco. I would recommend using the below products as I have found they work the best with these cases. If after using these there is no improvement, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her in case oral antibiotics / antifungals are needed. I hope these help! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further! 1. Douxo PS Chlorhexidine combination shampoo and bathe twice weekly until resolved 2. Douxo PS mousse and apply once daily until resolved 3. Welactin omega 3 fish oil capsules for dogs 4. Essential 6 spot on by Dermoscent

All of the brands you listed are good shampoos. Duoxo is one of my go to shampoos but many are equivalent. A chlorhexadine/ketoconazole shampoo helps treat yeast and bacteria. The main thing is to lather Sibyl up and allow the lather to soak for 20 minutes or so before rinsing. If needed you can bathe every 2-3 days. I also recommend an oral omega 3 supplement such as Derm Caps. Remember if you use topical flea or heart worm prevention the medicated shampoos will strip it out. I recommend oral preventatives for dogs getting medicated baths. https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/nutrition-skin-and-dogs https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/pruritus-itching-and-scratching-in-dogs I hope this helps. Hi there and thank you for using Pet Coach to address your concern. I would suggest applying Zymox topical ointment or malacetic conditioning spray to the area to help relieve any irritation and prevent infection. If the area begins to ooze or become swollen / more red, I would have a veterinarian examine the area to see if oral antibiotic therapy is needed. If Ches has been licking or chewing the area, I would purchase a plastic cone to place around his neck so that he cannot access the irritated area as this will make things worse. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. I am also available via consultation if needed.

Hylyt shampoo may be helpful in a dog with atopic dermatitis. My preference is a shampoo and creme rinse called Epi-Soothe which contains colloidal oatmeal. We use the shampoo followed by the creme rinse. This will be need to be used in conjunction with other treatments in most cases of atopy. You can read more about atopy and itch control at: http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=597 and http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=599
