It sounds like he has found a fun game to play with you and that is his new favorite playtime activity! While this may be frustrating for you, its possible he may just really like that particular play behavior. You could try some fixed hanging toys, such as this: https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/cat/cat-toys/cat-teasers-and-wands/petpals-group-zippy-m-grey-springy-teasing-balls-toy https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/cat/cat-toys/cat-teasers-and-wands/petpals-group-vortex-m-grey-ring-teasing-balls-toy https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/cat/cat-toys/cat-scratcher-toys/you-and-me-sisal-cat-scratch-post As for why he is acting that way and not letting go, I suspect it is truly just that he thinks its a very stimulating, fun thing to do. This is a tough situation. Regarding the allergies, you need to speak with your regular human doctor. Sometimes medications may help. Don't feel bad putting him in a room when you have tasks that need to get done. He won't be mad if he is put in the bath room for an hour. This behavior may calm down as well as he continues to adjust to his new home. If you don't want to give him back to the shelter, you may ask friends/family about adopting him. I hope this helps.

Hi there! It's very common for puppies to enjoy tearing up paper items, boxes, books, etc. The best way to prevent this is to puppy-proof your home and keep these items put away out of Kimi's reach - just like you would for a human toddler. She will likely become less interested in doing this as she gets older. I would also make sure that you are providing plenty of appropriate chewing options for her, such as bully sticks, rawhide chews, cow or pig ears, and puzzle toys such as a Kong stuffed with peanut butter.

Yes, it's fine to use toothpaste around your cat. You shouldn't use human toothpaste to brush her teeth, and she shouldn't ingest large amounts of it - but the scenarios you describe here are perfectly safe and would not cause any problems.
