Thread the pet's everyday collar thru the collar rings on the ZenCone and place back around animal's neck - Take the two ends of the ZenCone and wrap around the pet's neck (to create the cone shape). Secure the two ends with the velcro strips that are sewn onto the collar. THE COLLAR MUST EXTEND BEYOND THE PET'S NOSE. PLEASE SEE PRODUCT HEIGHT MEAUREMENT FOR "NECK TO SNOUT" length.
ALWAYS MONITOR YOUR PET TO ENSURE THE COLLAR IS WORKING PROPERLY.

Nice!
Worked nicely when my dog had a hotspot on her paw and helped prevent from licking more comfortable than other cones I’ve seen.

Newest manufacturing is cheap
We bought one of these a couple years ago and it was made of canvas and vinyl. Unfortunately we could not find it for our dog's surgery and we purchased a new one. This newer manufactured model now features foam instead of canvas that tears extremely easily. Within 2 days we had to duct tape it back together. This collar is pure garbage.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Tears easily with claws
The design is nice and it seemed like it woukd be a better alternative to the plastic cones. The problem: foam. The cone is made of foam and dogs have claws. My doberman damaged the cone within 1 hour of putting it on; putting huge tears in the foam sections. It was useless.

Great collar for my Belgian Malinois!
This collar has been great for my Belgian malinois who is super high energy! He was ramming his hard plastic cone into everything before I got this one. This softer version of an e collar allows him to move around without destroying my house and he is able to turn around in his kennel very easily. He has had the cone on for three weeks and it is still doing its job. The fact that it attaches to his collar has helped to keep him from removing it.

Comfy and functional
So the reviews concerned me a little bit, which is why I felt compelled to leave my own review! We cautiously bought this and absolutely love it!! it’s way more comfortable than the typical plastic cones, it’s shorter so your dog can still pick something up and eat it off the floor or drink out of their water dish! My dog was pretty much right at the 18” neck threshold but we went with the M/L and it’s perfect! We bought a cheap collar to attach it to because we weren’t sure if her thick dog collar would work but it would have. (I tried to include pictures so you can see the size of it compared to my dog.)

Great for calmer or crated dogs
This is a great cone for calmer dogs or crated dogs who don’t mind things around their face. Mine wouldn’t lay down in a regular cone and I couldn’t stand the regular ones. It worked great for her spay and since she has mental behavioral issues she sometimes causes injuries to herself. We have had hers for 6 months with several uses and it’s still working great and she loves getting it put on because she knows that it means she gets cookies. We just ordered our second one to keep as a backup incase this ever gets discontinued.

2 weeks and going STRONG!
This cone is literally the best! What a lifesaver it has been for my 80 lb Lab (XL size). He had a hot spot on his lower front leg that he would not leave alone. 2 weeks of constant use and this thing is still holding strong! Some people mentioned flimsy material but ours is super durable - He bashes around in it and it's perfectly in shape - Thank you for a great product during his recovery!

How should this be washed ? On gentle or normal will do? Also, does it keep its shape or becomes flimsy after wash?
Is the Zen collar bulky. I've tried several soft cones but too heavy, clunky.
- No it is really light. My dog could lay down comfortable in it and could even jump through the doggie door with it on. I bought the one from the vet (before buying this cone) and my dog was so freaked out by it and it was so heavy. I recommend this cone for your fur baby.

If my dog chews it up in the first day while wearing it can it be returned?
- If placed on dog properly it cannot be chewed on.

What is the measurement of the large from the inner edge that goes around the neck, to the outer edge?
Do you have to use this cone with a collar or can it be used without a collar?
- It can be used without a collar no problem. The collar will keep it from spinning around but it'll stay on just fine

I am thinking of using this to cut my cats nails so she does not bite me. She is 5 lbs but cap pack a big bite since she has been older- 16 years now. Will this work?
What is the measurement from the neck to the end of the cone for the XL
Does this collar prevent them from pawing at their eye? Ours just had an eye procedure and is miserable in the plastic cone.
- Just make sure you get right size. Meaning it's wide enough so that the fabric goes past his nose.

My dog -30 lbs- is licking her front paw. will this cone work for her
I have 2 black labs age who just recently got neutured. They weigh approx. 56lbs.each. Will this help them stop licking their wounds and can they sleep with this on? I don't care for the plastic cones.
- Yes to all of the above. I would bet that you and your Labs will be much happier with the soft cones.
