Female Stocky Anthias (Pseudanthias hypselosoma), 2.25-4.25", Medium removed from the wishlist
Description
Pseudanthias anthias are brightly colored and make an exquisite display when added in a harem. The female Stocky Anthias can be added in groups of at least three, but they do much better in a harem size of 6 or 9. Usually, one in the group will morph into a male, but a male Stocky can be added for every 4 or 5 females, which gives a much more completed look and saves the fish a dominance struggle. The males will protect (and harass to a certain degree) the females, making for a really great show. Stockys are fairly quick to take a large variety of foods, and have shown themselves to be quite hardy. These fish are well suited for automated feedings on pelletized foods, which allows you to get them a more natural food distribution over the course of a day. The Stocky Anthias has a maximum size of about 7" and will need a substantial amount of swimming room and hiding places. The Stocky Anthias are found in reefs of the Indo-Pacfic.
