Poor Beaumont sounds very itchy!! I would recommend having him checked over by your regular veterinarian. In a young dog like this I would be concerned about a flea allergy (he may need to be started on a topical flea treatment rather than the oral pill), Demodex mites, or an environmental allergy. Salmon oil can be very beneficial for skin health, but it will likely be a few weeks before you see results-take care not to use too much at first as it can cause tummy upsets initially. Your vet may recommend some skin diagnostics such as a skin scrape or cytology to help determine the nature of the problem for Beaumont. Depending on their findings they will then help you to form a treatment plan to get Beaumont feeling and looking better.

Beau is an adorable puppy! If he is having diarrhea after feeding the training treats and switching his diet formula you may need to put him exclusively on very bland diet for a couple of days. An example of a bland diet is cooked skinless, boneless white chicken breast and white rice (1 part chicken to 3 parts rice). You can still work on his training, but use little pieces of the chicken for treats perhaps. Once his stools return to normal you can slowly transition him to his new diet over several days adding a little more of the new diet into the bland food daily. And once he is on his new diet with no diarrhea you can use a blander treat for training. Hope beau is back to himself very soon!

I am sorry that Bea is barking too much. First of all rest assured that this is a common problem for puppies, and Bea is still considered a puppy. Unfortunately the tactic of yelling or stomping at Bea won't help the problem, as he will think that you are merely joining in the activity of "make loud noises at the door." It actually can contribute to the behaviour. This is the tactic I recommend though it may seem funny you have to start by Teaching your dog the "quiet" command. Give Bea the command to "speak." Then wait for him to bark two or three times, and reward him with a treat in front of his nose and verbal praise. When he stops barking to sniff the treat, praise him and give him the treat. Repeat this many times until he starts barking as soon as you say "speak." Once your Bea can reliably bark on command, move on to teaching him the "quiet" command. In a calm environment with no distractions, tell him to "speak." Then when she starts to bark, say "quiet" and stick a t

Many young, friendly dogs have this problem :) I would recommend keeping Beaux on-leash around strangers to prevent him from being able to rush over and jump on them, and rewarding him with treats for sitting calmly when people are around. As long as you are patient and consistent, he will learn over time to sit quietly and control himself around people. If you have trouble with this, I would suggest getting in touch with a good reward-based trainer who can give you some hands-on guidance. Hello. I am so glad that you are considering adopting Bucephalus. You do not indicate his age, but I would not expect a young(er) & healthy dog like this to have any difficulties with the stairs. As he ages, arthritis might limit his ability to climb 4 stories, but this could be the case with about any other breed of dog. If you manage his weight so he does not get obese, & make sure he gets regular exercise to prevent early onset of arthritis, he should do just fine. Good luck & thanks for contacting Boop by Petco.
