You are very welcome. In dogs we don't see this issue so much with water intake. Cats are usually always problematic to get adequate water into their system. Therefore your dog can have either wet or dry based on preference of the pet and yourself. I feel that giving half dry and half wet to cats is certainly better than no wet at all. Plus I can certainly understand that this may be more a cost effective way to care for your pet. If you also implement the placement of water fountains in your home, then this has shown to encourage cats to drink more because it is considered a fresher water source. I honestly have never heard of the special bowls made just for spaniels. That is a great idea and as long as your pets drink from it, then I say mission accomplished! It is, after all, still just a water fountain. I can certainly understand not wanting to continue to use a fountain which gets a daily dip from your pets ears. My favorite brands of food are Acana, Origen, Lotus and Hobest Kitchen. You can see if they are available in your area. Some of the freeze dried raw diets such as honest kitchen are very palatable to picky eaters. I also find that adding fish oil and warm water to dry kibble can be very appetizing. It is also a very healthy supplement for them.

Should I purchase a water fountain for my dog? She does drink on her own several times a day. But that sounds like a good idea. Does it really encourage them to drink more water? Is it easy to clean? I currently like to wash my dogs water bowl daily
I highly recommend purchasing a water fountain! I have one for my dogs and cats, and they love it. They are easy to clean, and have filters to help keep the water clean. Plus they hold lots of water, so you don't have to fill it up daily. There are many differing types of water fountains, and I will put a link below to a number of different ones. Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I personally like the Purina Pro Plan diets as well as the Hill's Science Diet foods as I think they are both palatable and highly nutritious. In terms of treats, I think the milk bones products are both nutritious, palatable and reasonably priced. Good luck and best wishes!
