I have a 7 month old amstaff mix who loves to chew. I'm at a loss as to what to give her. I've been told antlers and nylon bones will break or wear away teeth. However, she destroys chew toys that are pliable/able to be indented with a finger nail in
You are correct that antlers and nylon bones will break teeth, but they can also cause obstructions and/or perforations in the GI tract. I recommend a Kong toy. Those are very tough chew toys that are hard to dogs to destroy. You can also fill them with treats. I'd recommend, as an occasional treat, filling it with peanut butter and freezing it overnight in the freezer. That will keep her occupied for a while.

Nikki is adorable! Thank you so much for posting pictures. You posted about a number of concerns, so hopefully I can address all of them. As far as her teeth go, it is always recommended to have a full dental cleaning under anesthesia to resolve any underlying problems and pain, then follow up with something like a water additive to decrease additional dental calculus from forming. My favorite dental product is PetSmile, but it does need to be applied to the teeth. https://petsmileusa.com There has been a lot of evidence that increasing the amount of Omega 3 fatty acids in the diet can make a big difference for inflammation and itching. Since a diet change and adding Omega 3 fatty acids to the diet can both cause loose stool, I normally only recommend that clients make one change to a diet at a time (which includes supplements). I recently purchased a Nylabone flexi chew, and dental chew for small dogs. After coming home i began researching and i saw some bad reviews saying these products are unsafe. But others saying it wasn't. Do you recommend these?
I wouldn't let Steel chew on the Nylabone or the chews unsupervised, but if you watch him use them to keep him from eating huge chunks of the chews or parts of the Nylabone, it's fine for him to have them :-)

Looking for a good chew toy for Jasper,we were giving him the purina dental chewz but now it seems like he is eating them to fast,tried a few different ones but don't seem to last,any suggestions?
To keep dogs entertained for a longer period of time, I like to feed dehydrated chews. My largest dogs prefers bully sticks (https://www.bestbullysticks.com/4-inch-odor-free-bully-sticks) and my smaller dog loves dehydrated fish skins (https://www.thehonestkitchen.com/beams). They also like dehydrated sweet potato chews like Sam's Yams, but I might do something smaller for Jasper like their Bichon Fries (https://www.frontporchpets.com/sam-s-yams-bichon-fries-new-larger-size-12-5-oz.html). There are a large number of dehydrated chews on the market now, so you might ask at your local pet store to see if they have any suggestions for you. Please let me know if that was helpful. What is the best and safest chew toy for a 7 month old Bassett?
In general any thing that is not solid such as a bone, or that its too small or soft which he could break and ingest is ideal. Kong toys tend to be particularly good as they are not very hard on their teeth and cannot be ingested. Another benefit is that you can hide treats in these toys which entertains dogs for longer period of times. Hope this helps and best of luck
