If the box is not covered I would recommend doing so but otherwise try a wood pellet based litter which can be quite similar in texture; you may need to try a few brands until you find one that is acceptable to Storm!

Hi there. Most cats prefer an unscented clumping litter with a fine, sand-like texture - so I would recommend offering something like this. The litter box should be large with low sides, so it's easy for her to get in. If you try this and she still has no interest in using the litter box, then you may need to observe what type of surface she prefers to potty on and use something similar to this in her litter box.

I'm so sorry that you're dealing with this with scruff. I would consider Dr. Elsey's Cat Attract litter (https://www.drelseys.com/shop/cat-attract/) or additive (https://www.drelseys.com/shop/ultra-litter-attractant/). I would also consider covering part of a litterbox in sand or dirt to attract Scruff if she is used to going outside. Some cats hate covered litter boxes and some love them. I would try to use the hints of where Scruff is going to try to replicate those conditions in the litterbox. If she is going in the bath tub or on a tile floor, then leave half of the litter box empty for her go on a hard surface. If she likes soft surfaces, then try shredded paper or a soft paper litter. I would also consider something like Yesterdays News because kittens often like to dig in it (https://www.yesterdaysnews.com/Products/CatLitter.aspx). Good luck! I hope that was helpful and gives you some ideas. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Baking soda is definitely a viable option. I wouldn't add any sort of out side products into the litter. I would just choose a litter that is effective at disguising unwanted odors. The Arm and Hammer Double Duty and the Ultra are both really effective in my opinion at accomplishing this. There are also covered litter boxes that have little filters on top of them that help contain some of the odor. Another thing you might want to consider trying is to get one of those deodorizer jars and simply leave one open right next to the litter box. This will absorb a good portion of the unwanted odor. Hopefully, the new litter alone will solve your not-burying problem. Hope this make sense.

I know this is not ideal. If you are able to place a litter box up there I would. That way she is still urinating in a litter box at least. When you do have more room, I would create a space just for her. Put 2 litter boxes out for her, give her a place to look outside, places to hide and climb on also. I don't know if your veterinarian performed a urinalysis. If they did then I would think about doing a urine culture. A urinary tract infection does not always show up on blood work and a urine culture will give you an answer. Has your veterinarian prescribed behavioral medication? This may be a good idea for Nyx also.It can take a few weeks for it to fully work but it is something I would think about. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.
