Hello and welcome to Boop by Petco. There are many safe over-the-counter worm products in the united states. You will have to check at your local store what is available, however what you are describing sounds like a round worm. This often looks like spaghetti. I suggest you look up 'round work' on the internet and if this looks like the type of worm it is, make sure you get a product that covers round worms. Most routine dewormers will for cats. The other common type of worm are tape-worms that have little segments. Milbemax is a good broad-spectrum dewormer. Best of luck with Metro.

Hi and thanks for posting on Boop by Petco! Products that contain Pyrantel (Drontal) or Fenbendazole (Panacur) are broad spectrum deworming agents you may find over the counter at your local pet store. However, it is best if you run a fecal test with Axel's veterinarian first to determine what parasite he is infected with so the right deworming agent or combination of deworming medications can be administered. I hope this helps!

Hi there! I'm not sure if you're trying to get in touch with your local Petco about a dog you're adopting, perhaps? We are an online question and answer service, made up of experts all over the world - so we don't have access to any logistical information about your local Petco :) I would recommend calling the specific location you're trying to reach to set up a time to go and see the dog you're interested in.

Sorry, should have been more clear. You’ll pick these items up at your local grocery store or supermarket. Regular human benefiber (odorless, tasteless fiber powder). And any zinc-oxide baby diaper cream like Desitin is fine. Best wishes!

You can get dewormer for roundworms and hookworms from the store. Other types of dewormer though can only be purchased from your veterinarian. Make sure to save a sample of the worms and the stool and have your veterinarian look at it to determine what types of parasites are present because some of these worms can spread to humans and you need to know if there is a risk. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
