How do I take care of my pets paws during the winter/snowy days ?
Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Great question. There are many ice melt products that are safe for pets. Non-toxic and non-irritating. You can also buy booties for Wolverine which would protect his paws while he is outside. Some dogs won't wear these so it's going to be a trial and error. Also, you can rinse and wipe his paws off after he goes outside to remove any ice melt that he stepped on and remove any snow that is stuck to his paws or hair coat. Again, great question. You can just go and buy tick and flea treatment for your dog. Make sure it is the right size for his weight. You should think about heart worm treatment also. This will require a heart worm test to make sure he does not have heart worm and then the vet can prescribe the heart worm prevention. Here are some reputable flea and tick medications: Spot-ons: Advantage, Advantix Advantage Multi (Advocate in the UK) Frontline (ticks as well) Bravecto spot on (ticks as well) - for cats, in tablet form for dogs Nexgard Revolution (stronghold in the UK) Tablets: comfortis (will only kill fleas once) Collar: Seresto (ticks as well)

Hello. Petco carries a number of products that might help. Zymox makes a spray & a salve that contains hydrocortisone, that can really help with the itching. On-line, you can find many more products such as shampoos & conditioners that also contain hydrocortisone. Topicals only work for short periods of time. Longer relief can be obtained with immunostimulants such as Apoquel & Cytopoint, both available from your veterinarian. Your pet may also have additional issues such as skin mites, fleas, bacterial & yeast infections in the skin, & your veterinarian can certainly help to sort some of these issues out. Best flea/ parasite pill for small dog?
Thanks for visiting Boop by Petco. I really like the following products for small dogs: Simparica (30 day protection per pill), Nexgard (30 day protection per pill) or Bravecto (90 day protection per pill). They all also do tick prevention as well and are flavoared, so they are relatively easy to give because your pet thinks its a treat. Ask your veterinarian if these are available at their clinic, becuase different clinics carry different products in house. i hope this was helpful! Best wishes and take care.
