Hello and thank you for using Boop by Petco. Unfortunately, when I try to enlarge the photo, it is too pixilated to see the fine print and learn what it is. I would recommend to compare the ingredients. If it's a dusk free bedding, it's likely fine to use it. Please write again if you have any questions!

Hi Jack! I would recommend a pocket pet such as a guinea pig or a hamster. They are relatively low maintenance (you will have to change their cage regularly as well as feed and give water to daily), but are fine with being alone while you are at school. They are also great pets to have, I had a hamster growing up named Alvin and he was really cool. Good luck with becoming a vet in the future!

Hi! Hamsters can make great pets if they are socialized and handled gently. A standard hamster cage with a wheel, tunnels, a hide box, some soft bedding in which to burrow (like carefresh), fresh food and water are the basic needs of any pet hamster. If you want, you can add a network of tunnels to provide more exercise and enrichment opportunities. Hamsters can get sick and should only be fed hamster specific food items to decrease the chances of tooth and gastrointestinal problems. It’s also a good idea to take your new pet to the vet shortly after you get them so you have a baseline of health and have an established relationship with a vet in the event your hamster does become ill. Good luck!

Dachshunds tend to be snugglers, and also love to be buried (like under a blanket!). I'd look into a dog bed (or even a large cat bed) that has a [clamshell or hooded design](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/harmony-hooded-cave-cat-bed-in-grey) that she can crawl into and be covered up by it. Most smaller dogs (especially dachshunds) tend to like this [cave type bed](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/snoozer-luxury-micro-suede-cozy-cave-pet-bed-in-anthracite).

Thanks for your question about your guinea pigs. It depends on how far you are going. If it is only a couple of hours or so, the crate that you have in the photo should be okay. I would recommend having a place for them to hide, a towel or bedding on the bottom, and some access to food/snacks. If you are making a longer trip, such as overnight, then you’ll need a larger area for them. You’ll still need to include the same components - place to hide, bedding, and food - but you’ll want to include hay for them to access at all times, and then when you stop for breaks you can offer them pellets or greens so that they can eat while the vehicle is stopped. You’ll also want to offer them water at stops so they can drink. I also recommend covering part of th travel cage with a towel or blanket so they feel more secure. I hope that gives you a place to start, and good luck with your travels!
