Best calming products for my cat's separation anxiety on vacation?
Sully is adorable! Thanks for including a picture. I wish I could give you a simple answer to your question, but every animal is different and some require a combination of products. I would say that about 50% of the animals I try it with have a good response to Rescue Remedy, so that is often my first choice for cats (especially since it can just be added to the water). I have not used the other products, but both appear to have ingredients that could be used alone or in combination with Rescue Remedy. Don't forget that natural supplements are much more variable than medications and will not sedate, so they are sometimes not enough for a very anxious cat. I also recommend combining supplements with a Feliway Diffuser ( https://www.feliway.com ) or a Comfort Zone Diffuser ( https://www.comfortzone.com/ ) in your house. How much is a cat at Petco? What supplies do I need & will it scratch?
Hello. The cats & kittens offered at Petco are actually managed by individual rescue groups. Prices will differ from rescue to rescue. All cats can do well if they are played with & fussed over once you get home. Can they get into trouble & sometimes make a mess? Absolutely. If you do not want hair & dander & kitty litter tracked all over the house, you should not have a pet. Cats may need to have their claws trimmed ( NOT REMOVED ) & plenty of opportunities to exercise their claws, otherwise they will scratch your furniture, moldings & walls. You will need different types of scratching surfaces, plenty of toys, a water & food dish, litter box ( or 2 ), & lots of patience. All cats are individuals, so when you go looking to adopt a cat, take your family & give yourself plenty of time to spend with your potential pet, & ask lots of questions about them. What do I need to buy for my new 1-month-old kitten at Petco?
Congratulations!! I would recommend making sure you get kitten appropriate toys, two litter boxes and kitten food. At 1 month of age I would recommend a wet kitten food. I would also recommend clumping litter for her. You can always get her other fun stuff like a soft bed for her. I would hold off on any treats until she gets used to her new home. Nikki is adorable! Thanks for including pictures! Yes, PetSmile is expensive, but it is one of the only toothpastes to actually be approved by the Veterinary Oral Health Council. (Last year they ran a 25% off sale before Christmas, so I stocked up!) Yes, it is fine to use Dawn on Nikki's feet daily, but I suspect any gentle cleaner would be fine as well. You may have to experiment to find the best shampoo for her. I have been very pleased with EarthBath products, so you might want to try their Oatmeal and Aloe shampoo for itch relief. https://earthbath.com/product/oatmeal-aloe-shampoo/ There are also prescription itch relief shampoo and conditioner products if needed that you can talk to your vet about.
