Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. I am sorry to hear that Dexter is aging so much. My late dog was 20 years old and had a heart murmur, liver disease, kidney disease and CCD. I placed him on selegiline at the end because I felt it would make him sleep better and not be as confused. I felt that it helped a little, but wasn't great. It should be used with caution in liver or renal disease. If you think it will make him more comfortable for the time he has left, then I would put him on a trial of the medication along with a liver supplement such as Denamarin. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.

A great product to use with SAMEe is Denosyl. You can purchase this supplement easily online and it comes packaged based on small, medium or large dogs. Ladybug would need the 225mg Medium Dog dose Denosyl. This product is given once daily.

I am so sorry you are having to go through this with little Chili. Neurologic disease in elderly pets can be difficult to treat, understand, and very hard to watch, just like with people. It sounds like her seizures are well-controlled with the Keppra, but she is displaying additional neurological symptoms: pacing, circling, confusion. I am not entirely convinced these are all due to anxiety though. Usually neurologic disease in elderly dogs is due to only a few things: metabolic disease (liver, kidney, or diabetic issues), vascular events (strokes), or a brain tumor. If you have ruled out metabolic disease, which I'm sure your vet has, the other two diagnoses carry a very guarded prognosis. My concern is that the symptoms you are seeing are likely the result of progressive disease due to one of those two possible causes. While anxiety medication might help some, I fear that it's not going to give you or Chili the results for which you're hoping. In this case, it's important to thin

Hello. Most times you can give Anipryl along with Trazodone safely. On occasion, if the doses were/are high enough with both drugs, you might see serotonin syndrome. I am sure your veterinarian is quite aware of the doses used & is confident that Mitch will be fine. If you do see any unusual symptoms, agitation, muscle stiffness, distress, pacing, call your veterinarian. This is easily treated. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

I’ve used it with success in my geriatric terrier. It helped him sleep better and be less anxious. I also gave Neutricks daily for his dementia. I have also used the prescription drug anipryl for cognitive dysfunction but I usually try the Solliquin and Neutricks first. Keeping to a set daily routine helps in addition to daily moderate exercise. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for Haikko.
