Ticks can leave a bad rash and create a lot of inflammation at the attachment site. Without seeing what you pulled off, it is hard to tell if it was a tick or not. I would be concerned about it being related to the mast cell tumors due to the intense reaction that was created after the removal. Mast cells can typically get very red and swollen one day after being pushed on then turn calm the next day. It is best to save the piece you removed if possible and have yirbvet check that area to be sure

It sounds like Tato may have an underlying illness causing him distress, especially if he is acting out of sorts, has had behavior changes, and also had a lot of tick bites in recent days that can cause illnesses such as lyme disease, tick fevers, and more. Since these symptoms have been ongoing for two days without improvement, it would be best to bring Tato into your vet ASAP for a full exam, bloodwork, neuro exams, and additional testing as needed.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This actually looks very inflamed and possibly infected. I recommend that you have Mikey evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. This will likely respond well to antibiotics and local therapy with flushing and cleaning of the wound. Good luck and have a good night!

Thank you for using Boop by Petco! While that does look like it could be a tick, it is difficult to see from the photo. Ticks are also usually found in haired areas of skin rather than the lips. Because it is not clear what this is, I do not recommend removing it from Charlie yourself. Especially because of the proximity to the mouth and possibility that Charlie may bite if painful. If this is truly a tick, Charlie should be seen by a vet, as ticks can transmit Lyme disease and other blood parasites, and he may need to be put on prophylactic antibiotics. If this is a mass, your vet can elect to remove it under light sedation or anesthesia and send it off to lab as a biopsy. I recommend having Charlie seen by a vet as soon as you are able to and hope all is well!
